About Me

My name is Marie, I’m a 25 year old Midwestern wife, and mother to a wonderful chocolate lab, Ole. For the past 4 years I’ve worked at the University of Minnesota in accounting and student services in the ever growing Biotechnology field. Working in academia among some of the world’s brightest (and they know it) keeps me on my toes, to say the least. My job allows for a lot of flexibility, which I love.

Rather than saying I have a weight problem, I’d like to say I have more  of a “body image” problem. I’ve struggled with an eating disorder since 2001 when I had teenage boyfriend drama. It has brought ups and downs in my physical and psychological health. To make things a little more difficult, I am gluten intolerant. Ever since my junior year of high school I’ve bounced around between 135 lbs and 170 lbs. After years and years of self loathing, eating disorders, fad diets, and failed exercise plans,  I’ve decided that tomorrow starts today. Time to take control! I’ve decided to stop using my past as a crutch to explain failures and to stop letting my past determine my future.

More details as I think of them…

Please note: I am not a doctor, and I have no degree in anything remotely qualifying me to give medical advice. You should check with your doctor and a registered dietitian before beginning any workout program or drastically changing your diet.

Thanks so much. I think every weight loss story, or life change story I’ve read lately has really helped me. It’s nice to know other people are going through the same thing as me and that I’m not alone.
